SPONSORING A CHILD

Amanecer is looking for sponsors for the children between the
ages of six and sixteen. This is the time in a child's life when they
are the most aware of being alone in the world or, worse yet, of
having been rejected by their parents. It is also the most difficult
age range to find resources for the care and education of a child.
So in order to connect each child with a caring adult and to help
with their food, clothing, shelter and education we are asking for
sponsors that will undertake the following for one of our children.

-Provide $25 per month towards care and education,

-Send a card and/or small gift at birthdays and Christmas, and

-Write a letter at least three times a year.

The money is not given to the child but rather to the house in
which he is living. At sixteen the children have begun vocational
training and earn some money through this "apprenticeship". They
begin at this time to contribute to the house expenses where they
are living. We encourage sponsors to remain in contact with their
"child" after they turn sixteen whether or not they wish to choose
another child for formal sponsorship.

We encourage sponsors to visit the program at any time.
