 This is the facility that accepts orphans, abandoned children and children at risk between birth and six years of age. Many have been mistreated physically, mentally or otherwise.The attention provided to the infants includes intense stimulation as well as other primary care activities. The facility currently has 40 infants under the age of 8 months who need enriched milk to combat malnutrition. This facility is understaffed due to budget constraints and there is a great need for more caregivers. Many children do not receive sufficient human contact to ensure healthy development. Many volunteers are directed there but more regular staff are required. Friends of Amanecer Canada is attempting to raise money for the salaries of two caregivers.
