Amanecer is always in need of funds and people to help us broaden our donor pool. There are many ways you can help us to raise funds, just a few of which are suggested below. Remember, every little helps!

Host an event

Events of all scales can help, from a fund-raising party that you host for family and friends with the aim of telling them about the work of Amanecer, to a gala dinner, to a raffle, table top sale, bake sale, slave auction...whatever you have the means and imagination for. Get together with friends, your church community or collaborate with your work place or local school to see what you can come up with.

Get Sponsored

If you've always liked the idea of jumping out of a plane or abseiling down a building, this is your excuse to do it and raise money for it! There are many organizations around the globe that organize such events for people to raise funds for different charities. If you're not so into adrenaline-filled activities, why not organise a sponsored run, walk, swim, cycle, pony ride, knitathon, silence, bake-off...whatever you think will help you to raise money.

Corporate Matching

Many companies run corporate matching schemes in which they will match charitable donations made by their employees. Ask your human resources department for information. Other companies choose a charity to sponsor for a period of time, why not propose Amanecer as the “Charity of the Month/Quarter/Year”?

Host a Casual Day at Work/School

On a specific day (many offices hold one per month) staff members/pupils can pay a set fee for the privilege of coming to work/school in their casual clothes. If your office or school is already casual, consider hosting a fancy-dress day instead.

Start a Penny War

This is easy to set up and lots of fun. Challenge groups of colleagues or school classes to collect as much change over a week as they can. The group that collects the most wins a prize and all the change collected goes towards Amanecer's projects.

Share Through Social Media

Customize your email signature to include a description of Amanecer to raise awareness. Add links to your social networking pages (Facebook, Twitter, Bebo etc) and use them to help publicise any fund-raising events you organise.

Be Someone's Valet

There are lots of household chores that people don't like doing. Why not offer to wash cars, tend neighbors' gardens or do their ironing for a fee that goes to Amanecer?

Personal Appeals

Writing letters to local businesses, asking friends and family, creating a flyer to distribute in your local community/school/work place can often yield surprising results. Don't forget to include information about Amanecer and your commitment to the organization that will encourage people to be generous.
