DESCRIPTION OF FACILITIES

HOMES:

SALOMON KLEIN -
This facility accepts orphans, abandoned children and children at risk between
birth and six years of age. Many of these children are available for adoption.
Capacity: 140

YAYKUNA - (COME IN)
The is a day facility that works with children living on the street unwilling to
commit to a residential situation.

SAYARICUY - (RISE UP)
This facility is a residence for boys coming directly from the street. The children
are given shelter, education, counseling and some structure to a previously
aimless and dangerous life. They are eventually reunited with families if living
and it is possible, or they progress to other levels of the program. Capacity: 90

MADRE DE DIOS - (Mother of God)
This is a residence for young girls and women with children who are
extremely poor and living on the street or at risk and want to make a better life
for themselves and their children. They are assisted with education, health, and
vocational training. Capacity: 50

CASA NAZARETH
(House of Nazareth)
This is the second level of the program for smaller boys who have passed
through Sayaricuy. It is a small house with a family atmosphere housing 25 boys
between the ages of 6 and 12. They receive formal education, counseling if
necessary and taught responsibility for the house and the other boys. Capacity:

SAN MARTIN
This facility takes boys between the ages of 11 to 15 years old. They continue
their formal education, begin pre-vocational training at the home and take more
responsibility for maintaining the house including a relatively large garden, which
provides fresh vegetables for the facility. Capacity: 100

ANA MARIA
This house has boys 15 to 18 years of age who are continuing their formal
education as well as pursuing vocational training at Amanecer´s vocational
school. Capacity: 25

JERUSALEM
This facility functions as a "half-way house" for older boys who are almost ready
to leave the program but need a degree of support for the transition to society.
Capacity: 20

Wiñay - (To Grow)
Wiñay is a house that takes in boys 6 to 11 years old who have not had spent
much time on the street. These boys all attend the special Amanecer school
(San Vincente). Capacity: 32


EDUCATION/TRAINING

SPECIAL SCHOOL
This school is operated for the children of the program who are not at their
academic age level. Children of people in prison also attend this school.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING
A technical education in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, metal work, baking
furniture repair, upholstery and sewing and other areas is offered to young men
and woman living in various houses of the program. The training is done at a
separate facility (El Complejo-The Workshop) as well as at real construction
sites.
