DONATIONS & GIFTS FOR THE CHILDREN

DONATIONS
Amanecer does not believe in fund raising campaigns or any form of publicity
that would take resources needed by the program for the maintenance and
education of the children. Instead the program relies on the contributions of
individuals both within and outside of formal church organizations for its
operating expenses. At present the average annual expenditure on
administration is 10%. Therefore 90% of the money that is donated is applied
directly to the welfare of the children.

The money contributed through sponsorships is not given to individual
children but rather to the house where they are living. Every effort is made to
ensure that all children receive an equal amount of benefit from any
contributions either general ones or ones targeted to a house of an individual
child.

If you would like to make a donation to Amanecer you can do so by sending
your contribution to one of the addresses listed in the contact section. The
offices in the U.S. and CANADA will send a receipt for tax purposes on receipt
of your gift. Please do not send money in the mail directly to Bolivia.

Donations of clothes, toys and computers are very welcome as well. There is
often a need for basic medical supplies and vitamins. To mail these items in
bulk from Europe or North America is expensive and somewhat unreliable.
Friends of the program usually bring these items with them when they visit. If
you were planning a trip to South America we would welcome any of these
items you wish to bring with you.

GIFTS FOR THE CHILDREN
Mailing small packages for individual children is less expensive and more
reliable. Favorite items are T-shirts, action figures, ball caps, posters, novelty
items and post cards. These mailed packages should be secured and registered
where possible. The child's name should appear on the package and not
Amanecer. Packages should be less than 1 kilo (2 pounds)to avoid duties.
